Russia is planning to build about 250 heavy military-transport planes by the year 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin wrote on his micro blog on Sunday.
Earlier, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered the Defense Ministry to speed up decision-making on new types of domestic military transport aircraft, including the An-70 plane.
A joint project of Russia and Ukraine, it can carry 47 tons to distances of up to 5,000 km.
