The PLA “will have to modernize its nuclear arsenal” because American missile interceptors “may reduce the credibility of its nuclear deterrence,” Maj. Gen. Zhu Chenghu of China’s National Defense University told a panel in Beijing on Wednesday. Chenghu elaborated to a Reuters reporter that the U.S.
interceptor system “undermines the strategic stability.” He was referring to the United States’ planned anti-ballistic missile system, which is slim at the moment, but by 2020 is supposed to shield Europe from short, mid-range and eventually intercontinental missile attacks.
While the shield is intended to defend Europe against an attack from Iran, the interceptors are both land- and ship-based — meaning the system can be packed up and moved. If, say, North Korea starts tossing missiles around, the United States could send ships to shoot them down. Those same ships, Chenghu’s thinking goes, could be used against China.

If the PLA had no nuclear missiles,the US could continue its nuclear blackmail of China. The Chinese aint dumb that the shield is aimed at NK and Iran.In any war the Chinese will be defeated but the price for victory will be exorbitant. That's why the pentagon is seeking to restore the days of 1950s to 2006.

The Chinese haven't got mad with the US unlike the SU.The PLA will ensure the US won't escape unscathed after striking China.The PLA need not seek 100% destruction of US assets. They can destroy maybe 20 to 30% at the moment.But it can increase to 70% if the US deploys the shield.
According to one Chinese official,the US is a guy with a criminal record. He has punched many guys .Now he is lurking in China' s neighbourhood. Although he says he has no hostile intentions towards China,the PLA being responsible for China's defence, are taking no chances.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone guarantee the US will not punch China or practise nuclear blackmail if the Chinese had no means of retaliation?I am afarid the answer is aloud no. The PLA will continue to upgrade its missiles ,offensive and defensive even if the US has encircled China with an anti missile shield.
It is to ensure the CONUS will suffer unacceptable damage shd the US unlease its full spectrum of nuclear weapons.
