Six Harrier Jets Destroyed In Camp Bastion Night Raid By Taliban

Taliban fighters wore US Army uniforms in attack on Prince Harry's base

The night time raid at Camp Bastion caused damage estimated to run to hundreds of millions of dollars, destroyed six American Harrier jets and badly damaged another two.
Details of the assault emerged as six Nato troops, including two British soldiers, were killed in two separate attacks by their Afghan allies in the latest “green on blue” attacks to strike the coalition.
A statement from the insurgents said the attack late on Friday evening on the sprawling Helmand base was in retaliation for an American-made film which insults the prophet Mohammed. Bastion had been chosen because of Prince Harry’s presence, they added.
