BURGAS, Bulgaria — The attack on a tour bus carrying Israeli vacationers
outside the airport here was carried out by a suicide bomber using fake
American identification, Bulgarian officials said Thursday.

Officials in Israel
and Bulgaria said that five Israelis had been killed in the Wednesday
attack. The Bulgarian driver of the bus was also killed along with the
bomber, and dozens more were injured.
Israel quickly blamed Hezbollah, the Iran-backed
militia, and promised a firm response. As injured Israelis were being
ferried back from Bulgaria by military plane on Thursday, Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu said that the attack was carried out by “Hezbollah,
the long arm of Iran.”
