Poland requests GCA radars from US

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a potential foreign military sale (FMS) of ground controlled approach radar systems and associated support services to Poland.
Under the estimated $200m FMS, Poland has requested for a total of nine ICAO category II ground controlled approach (GCA) radar systems with primary surveillance radar (PSR), precision approach radar (PAR), secondary surveillance radar (SSR), and very high frequency/ultra high frequency (VHF/UHF) radio equipment.
The sale also includes site surveys, systems installation and testing, spare and repair parts, tools and test equipment, personnel training and training equipment, technical data and publications, warranties, technical, as well as logistics support services.
According to the notification, the potential sale will support the modernisation of the Polish Air Force's General Dynamics-built F-16 Fighting Falcon and Lockheed Martin's C-130 Hercules transport aircraft programmes, and the USAF Aviation Detachment, which began several years ago.
