Chinese attack helicopter did not copy US technology: ministry

A Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman has refuted reports that China's military attack helicopter Z-10 pirated US technology, saying the helicopter's manufacturer used independent intellectual property rights.
United Technologies Corp of the United States admitted last month to selling China software that helped Beijing develop its first modern military attack helicopter. The company has agreed to pay more than US$75 million to the US government for the export violation.
