Afghan authorities said the death toll in Monday’s suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan has risen to at least 20 people, including three coalition soldiers they identified as Americans.
Local authorities said the attack occurred when a bomber on a motorcycle rammed into a convoy of NATO and Afghan forces carrying out a joint patrol in the eastern city of Khowst.
LA Times reports that Taliban insurgents claimed responsibility for the attack that occurred at about 8:30 a.m. Monday in the middle of a busy plaza.
Governor for the Khowst province, Abdul Jabar Nahimi, said the blast killed three Americans, an Afghan interpreter, 10 Afghan civilians and six Afghan police officers.
